This is a pin I haven't quite finished yet, for a friend. It's going to be a Sari pin, which she asked me to make for her. But First I have to find a big enough pin back to finish it, and then a black or white background to mount this on. I'm extremely pleased with it, though. This last picture is my current favorite tree on campus- although all the trees here are looking lovely now, this one is simply the best. The leaves are a beautiful shade of red, especially when the sun shines through them. I wish it would stay like that forever.
A few quick stories for you. Last week I made chili and cornbread and apple pie for dinner. I went grocery shopping, and got in line behind a man. I watched him unload his basket, anxious to leave so I could catch the shuttle back.He had ground beef, chili powder, kidney beans, tomato paste and a can of stewed tomatoes. I looked in my basket, and then back at his. They were identical, except that I had ground cumin in mine. I assumed he was making chili too, but decided against commenting, not wanting to appear easily amused- although I most certainly am. But when he turned around to get his bag, he stared at the little conveyor belt and cocked his head, then looked at me. "Chili?" We said together, nodding. And he told me to enjoy mine, and I told him to enjoy his. It was amusing.
The other morning, I woke up and got out of bed and started getting dressed. SL got up a minute later, put pants on, and opened the blinds. She giggled and told me that there was a really fat squirrel outside eating something. So I went to look, but it wasn't a squirrel- it was just a normal groundhog. I got a laugh out of that. But he was cute.

So, you know that saying, "Mind your own p's and q's" ? Well, now I know where it comes from . When you go to a pub in England, ale is ordered by pint or quart. Well, when the pub-goers used to get rowdy in the good old days, the bar-keep would tell them to "mind their own pints and quarts." Guess they got lazy and shortened it a bit.
